The Annapolis Maritime Museum's Summer Camp engages campers with the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay and the maritime history of Annapolis. All camps will get wet and muddy while exploring Back Creek and Annapolis through hands-on nature activities, exciting games, crafts and songs. The grades listed are for the Fall 2015 school year, for example if your child is going into 1st grade in the Fall they may attend both Chesapeake Critters and Amazing Adaptations.
Kindergarten – 1st grade June 29 – July 2 $200 AMM Members; $235.00 Nonmembers Oysters, blue crabs and ospreys are just the beginning in this animal filled camp. Discover the fascinating critters that make their home Chesapeake Bay. Hands-on exploration and live animal investigations will fill our day as we search for aquatic insects, crustaceans, fish, birds and more! Register Here
1st - 3rd grade July 13-17 $250 AMM Members; $295 Nonmembers Some fish use countershading as camouflage while others hide among oyster shells to stay hidden from predators. In this camp we will investigate the amazing adaptations of animals in the Chesapeake Bay. Daily themes include camouflage, migration, hunting and protection. Register Here
3rd-5th grade July 27-31 $250 AMM Members; $295 Nonmembers Did you know that Atlantic Sturgeon, Comb Jellies and Sea Cucumbers all make their home in the Chesapeake Bay? Join us as we uncover the lesser known and sometimes mysterious animals of the bay. Animal investigations, experiments, crafts and games will help us to unravel a new animal each day. Register Here
Back Creek Adventures
5th – 7th August 3-7 $250 AMM Members $295 Nonmembers Ever wonder how to use a compass or make your own fishing rod? In this unique camp, campers will learn the science behind being a waterman and examine the animals that live in the Chesapeake Bay. Campers will also explore Back Creek by canoe and take a special trip to downtown Annapolis. Register Here
