Nautical Art Showcase to open with reception on July 19
A group of artists from the Eastern Shore will present a “Nautical Art Showcase” at the Annapolis Maritime Museum from Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, August 26, 2012. The Artists of the Bay exhibit will feature work depicting life on and around the Bay. The opening reception will be held at the Museum on Thursday, July 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will be open to the public, free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
Contributing artists to the exhibit include David Murphy, Stanley Galkin, Jack Ehmann, and Georgette Toews. In addition, a number of guest artists will show work in various media including painting and photography.
“The four contributing artists are living their dream lives on the Eastern Shore after spending their working lives in various occupations including the military, marketing, architecture and other pursuits,” says Les Foster, a volunteer who coordinates the art exhibits for the Museum. “Each has found a rich environment for artistic expression in the phenomenal beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding areas. This exhibit will show how inspiration, creativity, and the freedom to pursue your passions all combine to make beautiful art.”
The museum is open to the public Thursday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. There is no admission, but donations are encouraged. For more information, click on www.amaritime.org or call 410-295-0104.
